When you choose the Tea Garden Cottage for your Kauai accommodations, you will be staying in the very heart of Kauai. Our upcountry cottage offers cool, balmy breezes, tropical songbirds, and the sweet fragrances of lush surrounding gardens. The Cottage was built in a Japanese style with shoji doors, beautiful slate floors and cedar wood trim throughout. There is a well appointed, full kitchen, writing desk and a two person rocking chair on the deck out back. Relax in a jacuzzi whirlpool tub overlooking the deck amidst luxuriant jungle and birdsong. You’ll know you’re in Hawaii when you take a shower outside in nature surrounded by gardens, warm air and beautiful views. There is a covered outdoor grill on the grounds as well as a washer and dryer unit available for your convenience.

You can walk out the door to a trailhead that takes you to Kauai’s healing green interior. This two hour hike with its verdant vistas ends at the Keahua Forestry Arboretum - a park with acres of both native and introduced tree species including groves of painted gum trees, scattered ohia lehua and dense tangles of hibiscus. Another beautiful trail just five minutes drive from your door is a hike up the Sleeping Giant. This trail takes you around and/or up the Giant and from the top are breathtaking views of Kauai’s towns, inland jungles, mountains and surrounding ocean.
We have kayaks available on site. You can take them on the Wailua River past an ancient Hawaiian village, through mango groves to Uluwehi Falls - this name means Manifest Destiny. Many Polynesian cultures believed that destiny could only be changed by standing in the presence of this magical waterfall.
The cottage location is central to everything our special island has to offer - the world’s most beautiful beaches await you! Whether you go north to Hanalei or south to Poipu, there are beaches and scenery to enjoy all along the way. From the cottage, you can drive 8 to 10 minutes down the road to treat yourself to a delicious breakfast in Kapaa, enjoy pristine white sandy beaches, or spend a day of shopping at the Coconut Plantation Shopping Center. Then, leave the crowds behind and return to your love nest, out in the rolling hills behind Kapaa.
